What does a Skimmer Box actually do?
Skimmer lids are designed to allow easy access to the skimmer basket, this basket forms the first step of your swimming pool filtration system, the skimmer box is designed to pull water from the top level of the pools water surface through it, here, it will catch the large debris like leaves and bugs, the water then moves through into the filtration system for your pool water to be cleaned and pumped back into the swimming pool free of harmful bacteria, debris and other fine particles.
The skimmer basket needs to be emptied regularly, especially if you have a high level of organic matter like grass clippings and leaves entering your swimming pool, but that doesn’t mean it has to be unattractive to look at!
